This morning I dragged my stuffy, coughing, sneezy self out of bed, threw on some sweats, and headed over to my local Target to try to snag a few pieces of the Jason Wu for Target clothing and accessories line.
What an experience.
I got there at about 7:30 and there was already a small line outside. I was maybe the 7th person in line, but by 7:55 there were at least 50 people in line. I’ve never gotten nervous about a shopping experience before, but as I heard the doors unlock at promptly 8:00 my adrenaline started to pump – it was impossible to stay calm when the whole crowd started surging forward. As the doors opened, the crowd ran to the racks.
Yes, I ran into Target this morning.
Once I was in the clothing section, I just sort of started grabbing stuff off the racks. It was seriously madness. By 8:15, almost everything was gone.
Madness!
I came away with three dresses, three shirts, and a scarf, totaling about $250. Don’t worry – most of it is going back. Like I said, I was just snagging stuff as fast as I could. I figured that I’d just sort it out at home. But! I was able to get the piece I really wanted, this adorable navy blue dress. So I’m satisfied 🙂
I love fashion and have been following Jason Wu’s career since 2007 – this is as close as I’ll ever get to actually owning one of his designs, so I’m happy I was able to get a few things that I really like. Plus, it was sort of fun to get all swept up the excitement. That doesn’t happen very often once you get to be an adult.
What did you do today?
