You know how sometimes you get to the end of the month (or whatever the end of your budgeting “cycle” is) and you’re reallylow on discretionary cash and the weekend is coming up and you have to figure out some way to have fun, but alas, no cash….what do you do? How do you fill your weekend time if you literally only have $20 – or less – to get you through?
I usually do two things:
1. Let my grading pile up all week and then just spend a few hours grading everything over the weekend. Boring and tedious, but free.
2. Spend a really long time at the library looking for a good novel on Friday afternoon, then swing by Trader Joe’s for a bottle of three-buck chuck and spend the weekend working through both. Somewhat unhealthy, but incredibly cheap.
I bring this up because I’m staring down TWO of these types of weekends for the next TWO weekends in a row. My budget runs 15th of the month through 15th of the month, and my last two weekends have been very spend-y. So I need to seriously conserve some cash at this end of my “budget month.” I can’t- in good – conscience spend two weekends in a row drinking cheap wine and reading chick lit…though it is somewhat tempting.
So how do you plan a super cheap weekend?! I need suggestions, people!!
BTW – The winners of my Turbo Tax giveaway will be announced tomorrow; I just couldn’t get my sh*t together in time 🙂
