2012 is starting out on a couple of really rough notes, financially speaking. First, my car needs work.
Like, almost $400 in work. And that’s with coupons.
Nothing is broken, exactly, but I’m way overdue for a few preventive maintenance items. I’m running on borrowed time with my serpentine belt, for example, and if that thing snaps in the middle of the highway, I’m pretty screwed. So, the work must be done ASAP.
Also, my cat is having some kind of respiratory issue. She has these wheezing fits, which are really scary for about sixty seconds. I took her to the vet today, and the results were inconclusive. She’s on a course of antibiotics now, but may need a chest X-ray. So, right now I’m out $175, but if she needs the X-ray (likely), that’ll be another $250. And I have to fight with her every day, twice a day, to give her these damn antibiotics. She can be a stubborn bitch, just like her mom.
To make matters worse, I’m having a lot of trouble selling my old desk.
So far, 2012 is financially sucking. It’s times like these when I have a really hard time staying positive about my finances. I need to get over the $2,000 hump with my savings. It seems like as soon as I start edging towards $2,000, I get hit with some kind of emergency.
If you can’t tell, I’m frustrated!
