Guess what? Today is Small Business Saturday! It’s sort of meant to be a counterbalance to Black Friday, where everyone runs out to the big box stores and neglects the special and unique items that small businesses have to offer. It was created by American Express, so it’s not exactly free of corporate influence, but nevertheless I have always felt very strongly about shopping at small businesses whenever I can.
Today I went to a great little boutique in my hometown called Something Else (they don’t have a website or I would have provided a link) and purchased this amazing Betsey Johnson winter coat:
If I were creating the perfect coat for myself from scratch, this is probably what I would come up with. It doesn’t show very much in this picture, but it has a really cool hot pink lining also. I love it! It was marked down to $99.99, and for a heavy winter coat by a major designer, I think that’s pretty reasonable.
Did you know about Small Business Saturday? If so, did you go to one today? What did you get?!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
