This week sucked, financially speaking:
Exhibit A: After my colonoscopy Monday, I was desperate for a bagel. T took me to the bagel place right from the doctor’s office, we parked outside, but neither of us had quarters so we just popped into the bagel shop without feeding the meter (you know where this is going). We were in the bagel shop for less than five minutes and I got a f*cking parking ticket – $40!!!! Dammit.
Exhibit B: Yesterday was T’s birthday, so I made him a carrot cake. Or, I tried. The baking part went fine, but the flipping the cake layers out the pans part….not fine. After an hour and a half of work, I had to go out to the the store, buy all new ingredients, and start all over. Dammit.
Exhibit C: My car needed an oil change, so I hunted high and low for the best deal and a coupon. I found a place on my way home from school with a killer coupon – $20 for an oil change, tire rotation, etc. Except that while my car was being checked out, they discovered that my rear brake pads were toast. When I got my front brakes done in the winter, they warned me this was coming, but I didn’t realize it was this dire. So my $20 oil change turned into a $200 oil change and brake job. Dammmmmittttt.
Luckily, my pool opens this weekend so I’m going to get into my bathing suit and catch some free rays while reading my free library book. After this week, free is all I can afford :/
