I’m still working on a post that explains my sudden decision to become a debt-free gal, but I’m not feeling very articulate tonight. So in the meantime, I’m going to post my April goals. It’s going to be a big month.
1. Pay off my Best Buy credit card
This will clear one whole debt off my balance sheet; what a great way to start my debt-free journey.
2. Pay $400 on my private student loan
Because of the way my paychecks and billing due dates fall this month, I’ll actually be accomplishing this goal before goal #1, which won’t come until the end of April. But my private student loan is next on the chopping block after my Best Buy credit card, so the $400 will give me a nice head start.
3. Lose 5 more lbs.
Ugg, I’m pretty sure I gained a pound or two over spring break, so my net loss for the month will only be 2-3 lbs., but I really need to get the rest of this weight off, so I’m persevering. Five pounds has been a reasonable monthly goal for me so far, so I think I can do it.
I’m not going to review my March goals, since they’re basically moot in lieu of the big financial overhaul I’m about to undertake, but I am thinking about posting new goals for the rest of 2010. And if you’re wondering where the money is coming from to accomplish goals #1 and #2, the answer is savings. Gulp.
Boy I hope I’m making the right decision.
