I’m so ready for payday tomorrow! I’m down to just a few dollars in my checking account, and I needed to stop to pick up some stuff at the grocery store for dinner this afternoon. I’ve been eating really terribly lately (Labor Day, then my parents were in town…and they’re coming back this weekend…oyy!) and I’m craving vegetables. On my way home, I was dreaming of my favorite bagged salad mix to have with my pasta dish tonight. Usually, it’s on some type of sale. But when I got to the grocery store, it wasn’t on sale – it was $3.99 plus tax. Ugg. But I needed a veggie! And I wanted something fresh – frozen won’t do after you’ve been living off chips and candy. I was just about to pay full price when I noticed that baby carrots were on sale for $1.50. I remembered that I had some light dressing at home and I realized…perfect! Crudites with dip and pasta for dinner! Problem solved. I got everything I was looking for (a healthy dinner) and didn’t have to overspend. Moral of the story: no matter what the situation, there is always a cheaper option. Whether you take it or not is up to you, but it’s freeing to know that the option is always there.
There is Always a Cheaper Option
In other news, I’m going to re-post my new budget soon. I’ve been mulling it over quite a bit, and I think I have a workable solution to the issues I’ve been dealing with. My parents are in town this weekend, so I probably won’t get to it until Monday, but I can’t wait to hear what all my fellow bloggers think!
In the meantime, enjoy the weekend everyone!
