Do you ever think, “Gee, if I wasn’t saving think of all the extra cash I’d have to spend every month”? I could eat out every night! I could buy new clothes and shoes every month! I could buy fancy stuff for my apartment! I could treat my friends to drinks every weekend!
Sometimes I definitely feel that way, but ultimately I’m happy that I save. Every time I start thinking about what a drag saving can be, I imagine myself in 5 years without a dime to show for my first 7 years of work and I imagine how mad I would be at myself. That usually brings me back down to earth 🙂
In other news, the first week of school went really well. This is the first year that I actually feel like I have a handle on everything – the kids, my courses, the school routines. It’s nice to not be a novice anymore. I got observed yesterday for the first time, and got all positive remarks. It was a nice way to start the year.
I don’t have any big plans for the weekend, just relaxing, reading my new book, and getting geared up for next week. Hope you all are enjoying the weekend!
